Fought on March 19th - 21st, 1865, the Battle of Bentonville was the largest ever fought in North Carolina, and was the only significant attempt to defeat the large Union army of Gen. William T. Sherman during its march though the Carolinas. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome to explore the grounds with you, but are not allowed in the buildings.
