From this site on Chrismas night, 1776, General George Washington and men of the Continental Army and militia crossed the Delaware River and marched to Trenton, New Jersey. There they attacked and defeated Hessian troops quartered around the city. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome on the grounds, but not in the buildings.
