Set aside in 1891 as part of the Yellowstone Timberland Reserve, the Shoshone National Forest was the first national forest in the United States. It consists of some 2.4 million acres of diversified landscape. Enjoy a variety of recreational activities all while taking in the awesome beauty of the meadows, forests, and snow-capped mountains at Shoshone.
