From the sagebrush at its alluvial base to the 13,063-foot summit of Wheeler Peak, Great Basin National Park includes streams, lakes, alpine plants, abundant wildlife, a variety of forest types including groves of ancient bristlecone pines, and numerous limestone caverns, including beautiful Lehman Caves.

Leashed pets are allowed on the Lexington Arch Trail and in developed areas, such as picnic areas, parking lots, along gravel and paved roads. Leashes must be no longer than six feet. Pets are not allowed in the buildings, in Lehman Caves, or on other park trails. Pets are not permitted at evening programs.
