From natural wonders to big city life, a pet friendly trip to Missouri has it all! Start at the iconic Gateway Arch and then cruise historic Route 66 for a true taste of Americana. Speaking of tastes, don't miss a Missouri barbeque. Grilled low and slow and infused with the flavor of wood smoke, different parts of the state have their own take, so ask around to find where the locals go. There is also plenty of wild country to explore here--the Mark Twain National Forest covers 1.5 million acres in the Ozark Mountains. And if you're looking for a quiet getaway, Lake of the Ozarks is just the right speed. Whatever you choose to do, you'll make plenty of memories in Missouri.

Best Time To Visit

The best times to plan a pet friendly trip to Missouri are spring and fall. In April and May the trees and flowers bloom, the temperatures are lovely, and springtime showers make the air feel fresh and clean. By September, the temperatures cool down to the upper 70s, the days are sunny and dry, and hardwoods in the Ozarks begin to show their colors. The fall foliage hits its peak in October, which is also when the annual harvests are brought in. Early November is still nice, with crisp days and clear skies. Good deals on hotels can be found during spring and at the very end of fall before the Christmas season takes off.
