It’s hard to beat the Thousand Islands region in the summer. And its distance from major population centers and plenty of camping means it’s less crowded than many summer destinations.

Things are still pretty quiet in early June when daytime temperatures top out in the 70s (Fahrenheit). July and August see temperatures hit the low 80s. Water in the St. Lawrence remains refreshingly chilly.

At night, you’ll want a fire at your campsite as temperatures dip in the 50s. Your furry friends will love not having to pant.

Spring tends to be muddy thanks to massive snow melt. But Fall offers cool temperatures and beautiful leaf-peeping.
