The living area is a bright, open space, made larger by a pitched ceiling punctuated with skylights that flood the room with sunlight. Watch it dance on the beautiful hardwood floor! Make yourselves some coffee and share tales of your day out on the whale-watching charter, or on the beach. If it's chilly, you can get a log fired up in the fireplace, or click on the quaint (gas) woodstove and warm up. Summer or winter, the overhead ceiling fan will keep the air - warm or cold - circulating. There's a DVD player, but you'll want to pack some of your own movies to watch. The big flatscreen TV has cable, but if you'd just like a simple diversion, why not pick a book from the library and read.

Stylishly remodeled, this is definitely not the original kitchen! Bright and roomy like the rest of the home, your chef(s) will appreciate the cooking control that comes with the modern, gas stove. There's a microwave, too, for snacks, warm-ups, and movie popcorn. Plenty of room in the big fridge for your cold stuff, and lots of cabinet space for your cooking supplies. Gather 'round the big table in the separate dining area when the meal's done. If you've got a movie to watch, put everyone to work with the dishes, made easier with the double sink and dishwasher. If it's a nice, sunny day, use it as an excuse for an old fashioned barbecue on the charcoal grill out back in the lush, landscaped backyard.

This charming home has three bedrooms, accessible via two separate staircases. One - right by the front entrance - leads to the main upper floor. At the top of this staircase, you'll be greeted by a small table with four comfy chairs: perfect for a game of cards before bed. Up here are two roomy bedrooms. White walls, more skylights, and bright colors make this a cheerful space. In one bedroom, you'll sleep on a double bed and enjoy your own TV for late night viewing. In the other bedroom are two twin beds and a big window with a view of the grounds.

Take the other staircase, and you'll come to the loft (which is actually above the garage). With its queen bed, TV, and full bath, you could call it the master suite, perfect for a couple who'd like a little more privacy. When the laundry starts piling up, take care of it in the utility room, where you'll find a washer and dryer.

There's fun for everyone - including pooch - at and around this Oregon Coast vacation rental! The dog will appreciate its private door to the big backyard, suitable for pups up to 45 pounds. Play a round of golf at Gearhart Golf Links (right nearby) or Highlands Golf Club, just seven minutes north. It's a short distance to charming shops, an old fashioned grocery, bakery, and a cafe in downtown Gearhart. Or, cross the bridge into Astoria (about 25 minutes north) where you can visit one of the waterfront bistros, casual fish houses, and a few highly regarded microbreweries. Make the 10-minute drive south to Seaside with its lovely aquarium, boardwalk, and souvenir shops.
