We took a weekend dog friendly trip to Boerne the day after Christmas in 2012. The Cibolo park was a great place to go Saturday morning - it was cold and early enough for us to be the only ones there but not cold enough to take a short hike. Most of the area we encountered was fields and swamp, but there's a brief woodsy trail that leads to a creek. Easy enough for a corgi to navigate! We encountered deer and several different birds.
