Curving pathways, shade trees, and convenient benches invite pedestrians to explore the approximately twelve acres of grounds surrounding the State Capitol. Don't miss the two decorative fountains dating from the 1850's on the southern portion of the square. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome to enjoy the grounds with you, but are not allowed in the buildings.
