Dedicated to preserving, protecting, and educating visitors about the aviation history of this area, this museum offers in chronological order from the early war years, a detailed account of it's creation to modern day technological advances. The site also details the story of an amazing dog affectionately named Sgt. Gander (aka-Pal) by the 1st Battalion of the Royal Rifles of Canada. He received the Dickin Medal for his acts of bravery and for saving many lives-he is the only dog from Canada to ever receive this award. Leashed pets are allowed on the grounds; they are not allowed in buildings.
