Why should I become a member of

Everyone can access the information and resources on GoPetFriendly. However, you must be a member to add your photos and write reviews about the places you’ve visited. In addition, only members can save and recall the trips they’ve planned using the Trip Planner.

How do I become a member?

Becoming a member is easy and free! Just click “Login” in the header, then click “Join Now” at the bottom of the pop-up and provide the required information.

Is it safe to give you my personal information?

Yes. We value your privacy and security as much as you do, and we won’t send you spam. The personal information you provide when you join GoPetFriendly will not be sold to or shared with any third parties, nor will it be shared with other members. If you choose to post photos or reviews, other GoPetFriendly users will see your screen name. You can find all the details in our Privacy Policy.

How do I change my password?

Let me guess … you used your pet’s name as your password, your pet guessed as much, and now he’s using your GoPetFriendly account to make all kinds of fun travel plans? Sounds like fun! But, if you want to change your password and you remember what it is, just login and then click on your user name in the upper right hand corner of the screen. You’ll be whisked to a place where you can choose a new password. We suggest that this time you don’t use your pet’s name.

What do I do if I’ve forgotten my password?

It happens to all of us! Just click Login and then Retrieve Password. We’ll send you an email with a link to reset your password. When you receive the email, click the link. If the link doesn’t send you to a page, please cut and paste the entire link into your web browser. If you’ve waited and waited, but still haven’t received an email from us, don’t panic … we probably got snagged by your spam filter. Please, check your email program’s spam folder and rescue us!!

How do I change the email address associated with my GoPetFriendly account?

That’s a cinch! To update your information or preferences just login and then click on your user name in the upper right hand corner of the screen. This is where you can edit your email address.

How do I unsubscribe from the emails I am getting from GoPetFriendly?

There is an “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each email we send. Clicking that link will unsubscribe you from our emails.

Why am I having trouble signing in?

It may be because your web browser isn’t set up to accept “cookies.” Your dog will not understand the concept of rejecting cookies, so you’re probably going to have to figure this one out on your own. Computer cookies are used to keep track of your user name and password, so in order to sign in you’ll have to change this setting in your web browser. Each browser has a slightly different way of enabling cookies, and you can usually find instructions by going to your browser’s Help section. Once you enable cookies, restart your browser and you should be able to login to your account.

How do I get started using

We’re excited that you’re ready to use! The best place to get started is on our home page, where you can easily search for hotels, campgrounds, restaurants, activities and services for your trip. You’ll find detailed pet policies so you can be confident you’ve found accommodations that will best meets your needs. Booking a hotel is simple – contact the hotel directly and make your reservation. If you’re ready to hit the highway, you can map your trip using our Road Trip Planner. If you’re having trouble figuring out where you want to go, check out our library of pet friendly destination guides.

Who is Scout?

Scout is the white dog in our logo. He spends most of his time (between naps) sniffing around the Internet looking for more places you can enjoy with your pets.

How is the hotel and campground pet policy information gathered?

We called every place – yep, that’s right! More than 30,000 phone calls were made to gather the detailed pet policy information that allows you to easily search for accommodations that meet your needs. Our team makes routine calls to the accommodations to verify that the pet policies are up-to-date. However, before you visit an establishment, please contact them directly to confirm that they are still pet-friendly as management and their policies can change quickly and they may not keep us in the loop.

What if a hotel changes its pet policy between the time I book my room and my stay?

Our team has confirmed the pet policy at all hotels and campgrounds listed on our site so that you can find accommodations that meet your specific needs. If you find that a pet policy is no longer accurate, please email us and we will do our best to help you resolve the situation.

How do I get in contact with my hotel to confirm my reservation and verify the pet policy?

To get in touch with a hotel, campground, service provider or attraction, you should contact them directly. Phone numbers, websites, and email addresses are provided for most listings, or you can find contact information in the confirmation email you received from their site when your reservation was booked.

My dog ate my booking or reservation information. Can you get me another copy?

Unfortunately, because we do not handle the reservations, we do not have access to this information. Please contact the hotel, campground, service provider, or attractions directly to fetch this data.

I’ve noticed something in a listing that is incorrect. How do I let you know about it?

We really appreciate the pet-friendly community for helping us sniff out the most up-to-date information! Please click “Edit This Listing” and provide the current details.

How can I let you know if a place listed on the site has closed?

Doggone it! It’s a bummer when a pet friendly business closes. Please click “Edit This Listing” and check the box that indicates the business has closed or moved.

I know about some pet-friendly places that aren’t listed here. Do you want to know about them?

YAPsolutely!! Although we’ve tried to collect as many as we could, we know there are pet-friendly places out there that we haven’t tracked down yet. We’d love it if you’d share your knowledge so other pet travelers can have more fun! Please Add a Listing if you know about pet-friendly accommodations, activities, or business not yet listed on the site.

Would you like to know about typos or broken web links that I’ve noticed?

Please, please, please!! Scout is not a talented speller and websites are constantly changing. When he’s not chasing his tail, he does try to keep on top of it, but there is only so much a dog can do! We would really appreciate it if you would click “Edit This Listing” and let us know about any needed corrections.

I’d like to share my photos and videos with the gang. How do I do that?

How can I close my account?

We hate to see you go, but if you must, email us and we’ll take care if it for you. If there is a specific issue with our site, its policies, or other users, we’d like to know if there is any way we can help.

How do I get my business listed on

If you are the owner of a pet-friendly business in one of the categories included on the site – that’s fantastic!! Please click Add a Listing and provide your business’ information. It may take a few days for your listing to appear – our team verifies the information for each listing and publishes it as soon a possible.

How do I get my business removed from the website?

Our goal is to be a complete source of travel information for our users. Therefore, we will not remove a listing unless the business is permanently closed or no longer pet-friendly. If that is the case, please email us.

How much does it cost to have my business listed on

Basic listings are completely free to you! Upgraded listing are available and you can email us for more information.

How do I let you know about revisions to our pet policy?

Please click “Edit This Listing” and provide the updated information.

When will my review be published?

It usually takes 24 to 48 hours to see reviews on our site. The process can be longer if the review needs to be examined in more detail by our team of moderators. This could be the case if you don’t follow our guidelines for posting reviews.

How long will my review be published?

Your review will be published indefinitely on our site. Your review will only be removed if you wish to delete it by contacting us or if our team of moderators has determined that this review did not meet our guidelines for posting reviews.

Can I be rewarded for a review?

No. Reviews written in exchange for personal benefits, such as gifts, services or money, will be removed.

Establishments are free to encourage their clients to post their reviews when they return home. However, no representative of the establishment can offer premium, discount, upgrade or special treatment for current or future stays in exchange for advice. If someone has offered you a reward for a review, please let us know.

In some cases, GoPetFriendly may launch promotions to reward with badges and points contributors who have submitted eligible content over a particular time period. These programs are not intended to encourage the sending of reviews to a particular institution. All content sent as part of these promotions is accepted, whether positive, neutral or negative. They are subject to the same content policies as all other submissions sent to GoPetFriendly.

Is it possible to modify a review?

Once sent, your review can not be edited. If you would like to delete your review or make changes, please contact us.

Will my review appear on other websites or publications?

We do not share reviews with other websites or publications.

If I write a review about an establishment, can I be contacted about it?

Communicating a contributor’s e-mail address to an owner, manager, or other person is against our privacy policy. Contributors remain anonymous unless they choose to publish their email address or contact information in a contribution, such as a review or message in a forum.

However, property owners or managers may respond to your review to thank you, ask for other comments, legitimately attempt to resolve customer service issues, but they are not allowed to ask contributors to retract a review. Harassing contributors is also strictly forbidden.
