This pioneer farmstead, once the home of Zebulon Baird Vance, includes a five-room log house which has been reconstructed around the original chimneys, as well as six log outbuildings. Vance had a thirty-year political career, during which time he served as a Civil War officer, North Carolina governor, and U.S. senator. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome on the grounds, but not in the buildings.
