The Iranian hostage crisis lasted 444 days, and at this park a flag flies for each day the hostages spent in captivity. Eight members of the US Armed Forces gave their lives in an ill-fated attempt to rescue the prisoners, and a monument to those brave men is included here as well. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome on the grounds.
