This large refuge contains approximately acres of bottomland hardwood forest, the largest remaining remnant out of an original 2.5 million acres. Visitors can enjoy watching wildlife, canoeing, kayaking, biking, hiking, jogging, berry and mushroom gathering, and picnicking.
