Best Time To Visit
Sedan’s elevation (4,350 feet) means that you’ll see some snow over the winter. But it’s not so high up that you miss out on a warm summer. For outdoor explorers, the best months to visit are the spring and fall—March, April, May, October, and November.
Things Not To Miss
The area has miles of dog friendly hiking trails in several nearby national forests and wilderness areas— the Coconino National Forest, Red Rock-Secret Mountain Wilderness, Munds Mountain Wilderness, and Sycamore Canyon Wilderness. You could hike for days and not run out of trails.
Afterward, rest your weary feet and quaff a cold one at Sedona’s many dog friendly restaurants and breweries.
Or take advantage of its convenient location for a day trip to nearby attractions like the Grand Canyon.
Learn about the lives of the Southern Sinagua, who flourished in the Verde Valley hundreds of years ago at the Montezuma Castle National Monument. Ruins of large pueblos built into the cliffs remain to view.
Or drive historic route 66 to Flagstaff where you can take one of their tours to learn about the art, history, and culture of the city.
