Stay at your own private sanctuary at this amazing, pet-friendly (for one dog), three-bedroom Central Oregon vacation rental. The very name Shanti means peace, calmness, and tranquillity and you'll find all of that here! Spend blissful summer mornings viewing the wildlife from your deck overlooking the Deschutes River or survey the tree-filled property right from the deck. You'll even have access to a dock! Inside, the design aesthetic is Eastern-influenced with a bright and open great room, shiny hickory floors, and colorful touches throughout.

This tranquil getaway is literally half a block from the edge of La Pine State Park, where miles of trails await your year-round adventures! The opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, trail running, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and exploring are endless, and a few maps are provided for your convenience. World-renowned fly fishing awaits at Fall River, just a 10-minute walk from the house via the La Pine State Park trails. Feel like staying closer to home? You can float the Deschutes or fish from the property banks, or head to the campground upriver and float back home!

While the great outdoors beckons, you're still within 30 minutes of downtown Bend - and the town of Sunriver is less than 15 miles north. In the winter, skiing at Mt. Bachelor is a 45-minute drive away, and there's easy access to snowmobiling in the Paulina Lakes area. But even with all of those nearby options, you may choose to just spend your time near this beautiful custom house - you'll have a half of an acre of scenic, tree-filled property to explore with the dog!

Spend a lazy evening in the spacious great room curled up with a good book in front of the fireplace, under wood-beamed ceilings. The plush, sectional sofa has spots for everyone to relax after a day of hiking or skiing. This great open area has deck access for easy grilling and a wooden dining room table for meals.

The kitchen is fit for a gourmet chef with granite slab counters, shiny stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher), and gorgeous hickory cabinetry. There's even a breakfast bar for snacks or for kitchen helpers to help grate cheese or peel potatoes. And don't forget the gas grill outside - prep some steaks in the kitchen and then head to the deck for a lazy afternoon cookout.

All of the bedrooms at this 2,000 square-foot home are located upstairs, including a gorgeous master suite with a queen sized bed and a large soaking tub with a view of the river. This spa-like bedroom also has a rustically-elegant log bed, a wood-burning fireplace, and lovely wood-beamed ceiling. Sit in the rocking chair and watch for deer right outside the window.

The other two bedrooms also have bright, comfortable bedding, plush carpeting, and cozy accessories like throw pillows and extra blankets. Both have queen beds. This wonderful vacation retreat can sleep up to six guests, including one dog with an additional pet fee. There's also a washer and dryer, so you can pack lighter!

While there is no TV, there is a portable, hand-held DVD player with a sizable movie library for movies in bed, as well as a plethora of board games, card games and puzzles. This peaceful retreat also has WiFi and plenty of space to relax and roam (including a dock)! Ideal for couples traveling together or group trips, the Shanti River vacation house is an amazing destination in Central Oregon to get away from it all and back to nature in the stunning high desert geography.

This area also has a number of outdoor attractions like hiking and rock-climbing in Smith Rock State Park, rafting on the Deschutes River, or even golfing at Sunriver. In winter, there is access to snowmobiling in the Paulina Lakes area or you can make the 30 mile drive to Mt. Bachelor for skiing and snow boarding, or stay closer to home for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the national forest lands.

No matter what time of year you plan your visit to this Central Oregon vacation rental, there's always something to do - snowshoe, hike, bike high desert trails, or just relax on the deck with a glass of wine. This gorgeous Shanti River Vacation Home will leave you feeling blissful and calm.
