If you crave the salty-sweet smell of a sea breeze blowing in from the coast while enjoying breakfast on a screened-in porch, or a vacation spent cracking into succulent Maine lobster with buddies outside on the deck, then this charming three-bedroom York vacation rental will surely satisfy your getaway needs! It's even pet-friendly!

Located just a quick mile and a half away from the vast and scenic Long Sands Beach, a stay in this cozy three-bedroom abode means everyday can be a beach day! Because of its prime location from both the shore and the eclectic shops in downtown Short Sands, vacationers will never run out of things to do and places to explore.

This lovely home features vaulted ceilings over a combined living and dining room, giving it a spacious feel that's perfect for small gatherings. The knotty pine paneling throughout the house imbues each space with a rosy warmth that is instantly welcoming. Free WiFi and cable, along with TVs in nearly every room, ensure guests enjoy modern amenities and the ability to stay connected despite spending away.

The main entrance to this property is accessible through the cozy screened in porch, where guests are invited to unwind by six patio chairs overlooking the front yard and street.

Once inside, you'll find the fully stocked kitchen, complete with a fridge, stove, oven, and dishwasher, as well as plenty of cookware to accommodate any traveling chefs in the group. The bright and cheery kitchen also doubles as an informal dining space with a simple table and six chairs.

The more formal dining table, complete with six more chairs, perches in front of the stone fireplace, made from stones acquired from the surrounding area and meticulously constructed by the owner's family in the 1970s. Nearby, two couches surround the TV and a very Maine-chic lobster trap coffee table provides a place for guests to retire from the sand and surf. The communal nature of this space is perfect for gathering the whole gang together and is most effectively enjoyed when filled with good conversation and laughter.

Easy vacation living is epitomized with a cocktail or glass of wine on the deck while burgers and hot dogs sizzle to perfection on the grill in the background. The wraparound deck is complete with a propane grill, a table and umbrella, and five deck chairs for lounging. Shaded by the surrounding trees for privacy, this deck was made for lazy afternoons that melt into peaceful nights under the umbra of the starry Maine sky.

When those starry nights draw to a close, retire to the main level master bedroom, containing a queen size bed and a TV on top of the dresser. The roomy full bathroom with a shower and tub is just down the hallway, as well as access to the basement, where the washer and dryer are located. There are also two adult bikes stored in the basement, perfect for touring the charming and bike-friendly town of York, in addition to four beach chairs, and a pop up tent for portable shade on exceptionally sunny beach days.

Up the stairs on the second level await several more sleeping options, as well as a loft overlooking the living area. The second bathroom, small but equipped with a standalone shower, is located at the top of the stairs.

There's a clean and cozy second bedroom with two twin beds and a third bedroom with a full bed to accommodate sleepy beach-goers. All three bedrooms boast TVs and the warm glow of knotty pine interior in the natural light. This home can host up to six guests, making it an ideal rental not only for families, but for friends planning a group getaway.

This property is relaxed and charming both inside and out. You'll have an excess of table and seating space, as well as books and board games inside and the lawn space outside provides a place for kids and dogs to play before dinner. It's also perfect for a friendly game of bocce ball or other popular lawn games. If you do bring up to two dogs, there's just an additional pet fee.

When staying in York, it's essential to spend a day at both Long and Short Sands beaches in town. The downtown area of Short Sands hosts York's Wild Kingdom, as well as a strip of shops and restaurants that both kids and adults will enjoy perusing.

Barely two miles away from this cozy cottage sits the noble Nubble Lighthouse, one of the most photographed lighthouses in the state. Radiant and stalwart, the Nubble has been casting its warmth on the surrounding community since 1879. Outlet shopping awaits about nine miles south in Kittery, and a surplus of beautiful beaches, sensational seafood, and funky gift shops can be found a few miles up the coast in Ogunquit (eight miles) and Wells (11 miles).

A day trip to explore the uber hip dining, shopping, and art scene in Portland is an easy 47 miles away.

When only the motion of the ocean can cure your mainland blues, David's Hideaway, conveniently located a little over a mile away from two pristine family-friendly beaches, provides a cozy and accommodating home base to get your sea breeze and saltwater fix. Plan a stay at this Maine vacation rental for sunny, sandy, fun-filled memories with your family and friends!
