The park's 40 acres of hilly terrain offers scenic vistas of the Cold Spring Harbor. Its mixed hardwood forest is populated with large oak trees and thicker of wild mountain laurel. It is very attractive to migrating birds. And it's a good place to observe horned owls and hawks.
The park is the northern trailhead of the Nassau Suffolk Greenbelt Trail that extends to Bethpage State Park and eventually the south shore of Nassau County.
