On this 32,000 acre refuge, the most unusual feature is the 10,000 acre salt flat that stretchs westward from the Salt Fork of the Arkansas River. There are two nature trails and an auto tour that will provide an opportunity to see this extraordinary landspace up close. In designated areas of the park, during the permitted season, you can dig for the crystals that are unique to this site.
