Steeped in a rich cultural and revolutionary history, in April 1865 this was the site where agreements were made to end the Civil War, and the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments to the Constitution were enacted as a result. The park encompasses approximately 1,800 acres of rolling hills in rural central Virginia. Leashed pets are permitted in the park, but are not allowed in the buildings. Leashes must be no longer than six feet.
