Grab your sketchbook and embark on a journey to this wonderful, artistic, and dog-friendly Nordland vacation rental. Waterfront views from the wrap-around deck will be your inspiration for stunning seascapes as you sip a cup of black coffee, pick up your pencils or watercolors, and find the inspiration you've been seeking. You can even head down a charming wooden staircase for private beach access.

Tucked into a little nook on the stunning Marrowstone Island on Washington State's Olympic Peninsula, this lovely beach house is only 50 miles from Seattle and 17 miles to Port Townsend for restaurants, galleries, and other attractions.

Adorned with retro furniture from the 1950s and 60s, this home was built with a personal touch by artist Douglas Bennett. Many of the sculptures, artwork, and lighting throughout the house are his designs. Gorgeous hardwood floors, spacious rooms, and fantastic views of the water from every window in the house will make your stay in this home truly something special.

A beautiful open floor plan will entice you to spend nearly all of your time in the living room, dining room, and kitchen area. Piano players rejoice! A lovely grand piano is in the living room, so whether you are an expert or just barely know how to pluck out "Heart and Soul," you'll be able to have a musical vacation.

The living room also makes family game nights a must. Plenty of board games for adults and children are included. Literature lovers will also be happy with the selection of books on the shelves in the living room. In the evening, don't forget about the TV with a Blu-ray player and included movie library!

Calling all chefs! The gorgeous gourmet kitchen is complete with pots and pans hanging from the ceiling, a small bistro table, and a large selection of cookbooks. Have the chef in the group cook you something in the lovely kitchen, using all of the modern appliances available. Coffee lovers never need fear, because this home is equipped with a coffeemaker, espresso machine, and French press.

Three bedrooms will give you plenty of room for up to four adults and two children (the maximum occupancy is six). One king-size bed is upstairs in a large, spacious room, while there is another queen-size bed in the home's attached guest suite. Another bedroom on the main floor has two twin-size beds – excellent for sleeping the kids! And make sure to take note of the sofa bed in the living room.

Three tiled bathrooms with their own bathtubs/showers, will give everyone the space they need to shower off after a dip in the salty water, and don't forget your very own washer/dryer for washing off those swimsuits! WiFi access is also available to keep you in touch with loved ones back home. Speaking of loved ones back home, don't forget to take your favorite furry friends with you – up to two dogs are allowed in this beach house with an additional fee.

Step outside to the wrap-around deck and sketch the beautiful view of the water as the sun sets. You'll want to sit out on the patio furniture and chat, grilling up burgers on the gas grill, or maybe heading down your private staircase to the beach for a romantic moonlit walk. Afterwards, head out to the garage for a family Foosball competition!

Let the gorgeous Olympic Peninsula be your stomping ground! Experience some of the best hiking and natural beauty in the world, go horseback riding, try your hand at sailing, or go on a search for the Sasquatch, the Pacific Northwest's very own fabled forest-dwelling creature.

If you're not really the outdoorsy type, no problem! Take a day trip into Port Townsend and explore all of the galleries, unique shops, and yummy restaurants (like Sirens Pub and Sweet Laurette Cafe & Bistro) that your heart could ever desire. If that's not enough, there are plenty of wineries on the island and beyond – wine connoisseurs are sure to be very pleased! Nearby Sequim is home to the John Wayne Marina, Oak Table Restaurant, and Dungeness Spit, just bout 30 minutes away.

Whether you decide to release your inner day tripper or just stay in your Olympic Peninsula vacation rental and let the beautiful natural surroundings inspire you and your artwork, you are sure to be very happy with your Washington getaway!
