Experience quaint lakeside living in this three-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom, pet-friendly Lake Champlain vacation rental with a huge yard, a fishing dock, and more than enough space for up to eight lucky guests and a well-behaved dog!

Located on 150 feet of picturesque shoreline on South Hero Island in Keeler's Bay, this lake house is perfect for a relaxing weekend or an extended stay spent communing with nature on both land and water. Bring your poles and tackle, then head down to the home's very own dock to cast for over 80 species of fish that live in the cold waters of Lake Champlain (please note that there are no guarantees that the dock will be available to use, as the water level changes seasonally).

This authentic Vermont lakeside camp is a rustic house with an updated interior featuring exposed wooden beams, custom furnishings, and large picture windows. During colder days, sit in the living room's rocking chair to read a book from the home's small library, or gather your group to snuggle together on the comfy couch while watching a DVD movie on the flatscreen television. You'll find plenty of space to spread out, relax, and enjoy picturesque lakeside views in this room.

Adjacent to the living room is a well-stocked kitchen with everything necessary to whip up a great meal, along with ample counter space to lay out ingredients. Plus, modern appliances - a microwave, a stove, and an oven - make meal preparation and cleanup easy. When the food is ready, sit at the nearby dining table, which will accommodate up to 8 hungry people. Just outside, there's also a waterfront deck with a table for dining al fresco on hot summer days.

Retire home at the end of a full day of lakeside activities to get restful sleep in any of the home's three bedrooms, which will accommodate up to eight, including the living room's sofabed. Sleeping options include a queen-size bed in one room, a set of twin bunk beds in another, and a bunk bed (twin over full) with an additional twin bed in the third room. Each room is simplistically furnished with reading lamps, minimal decor, and picture windows. These rooms have a zen-like quality in their simplicity and will no doubt be places of deep, restorative slumber.

Extending over 20 feet into the lake, the dock is great place to land a trophy fish. You may decide to have your adventures on land - that's fine, too! The area offers myriad activities from wine-tasting at Snow Farm Vineyard & Winery (just three and a half miles southwest) to apple-picking at Hackett's Orchard (two miles south), and scenic drives on country roads for beautiful fall foliage viewing September through November.

South Hero has many great dining options, but you could also head over to the mainland and catch a Long Trail Ale or a Magic Hat #9 beer in Burlington, which is just 20 miles southeast and home to music venues, boutique shops, and eclectic restaurants - including over 10 breweries. Also of note is the abundance of great hiking trails and pristine lakeside woodlands in the area. Go five miles north or the same distance southeast to find Grand Isle State Park and Sand Bar State Park, respectively; both areas offer beautiful features such as sandy beaches, dense maple and oak forests, and scenic trails.

Book this pet-friendly Vermont vacation cottage today and start planning your relaxing New England getaway!

(Please note: This home is on a lake water system and you'll need to bring your own drinking water. Guests must sign swimming waiver, and should take care that the railing on the upper bedroom level may not be suitable for small children. Thank you!)
