Enjoy a pedal-powered rail bike tour in the Cooperstown area. Tours run through the summer and fall until the end of October.

Choose from two tour options. The Milford Track is a 12-mile round trip (the national brand’s longest ride yet) that journeys north through farmlands and forests along the Susquehanna River. The Charlotte Valley Express is an 8-mile Southern roundtrip that also meanders alongside the River and goes over the majestic 200-foot long Portlandville Trestle. Both journeys incorporate an electric pedal assist system for the entirety of tours.

Pets up to 40 pounds are allowed for no additional fee. One pet allowed per group. And a mat for your pet to lie on is included.

Policy Details

Dogs are permitted at other Rail Explorers Divisions, but their safety and control is your responsibility. Riding on the railbikes may not be suitable for every dog. The ride can be noisy, and there is vibration from the rails. Dogs must be able to sit calmly on the floor of the railbike or ride in a carrier. Dogs are not permitted to be carried by the brake operator. Dogs must be restrained with a leash or harness.

Many dogs have ridden with us, but space on the explorers is limited, so larger dogs may not fit comfortably and may be in danger of being struck by the pedals or pinched by the chains. For this reason there is a limit of one dog per railbike.
