First settled in 1733 by Amos and Mary Janney, Quakers from Pennsylvania, this village became a thriving center of the community by 1800. By 1840, many of Waterford's buildings were in place, and many remains much the same as they did at the turn of the century. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome on the grounds, but are not allowed in the buildings. During the annual Waterford Fair, usually occuring in early October, pets are not allowed.
