Rising 1267 feet above the Belle Fourche River, Devils Tower has long been a beacon, attracting people and capturing their imaginations since prehistoric times. Today, it continues to hold many meanings for people including American Indians, local ranchers, rock climbers, and thousands of visitors. Leashed pets are allowed in developed areas, such as picnic areas, parking lots, and along gravel and paved roads. Leashes must be no longer than six feet. Pets are not allowed in the buildings or on trails.
